This is a recently completed Home Extension and loft conversion. The Bungalow was extended 2.3m out the back, 3.3m to the side and a 1st floor constructed to create a loft conversion.
The 1st part to this project was the Groundwork, Foundation and Over site. The fence was taken and conservatory demolished. Next the Ground was reduced to approximately 450mm below finish floor level (FFL) to allow for hardcore, insulation, concrete and screed.
Then the building was set out with lines and profiles, Foundations were dug and inspected by building control before concrete was poured. Next the Drainage under the over site was installed leaving tails out of the building to connect on to at a later date.
The Brickwork was then Built up to Damp Proof Course (DPC) bridging over the drains with lintels. 150mm of hardcore was laid and compacted followed by 25mm soft sand blinding, then 1200 gauge Damp Proof Membrane laid bridging the cavity to create a radon barrier. 100mm of insulation was cut and installed before building control inspected the over site. Once the over site was inspected the floor slab was concreted which completed the 1st stage of this project the site strip, Foundations, Brickwork up to DPC and Over site.
